Markus Kalliola
Markus is project director in the Health data 2030 project in The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, and coordinator of Joint Action Towards The European Health Data Space (TEHDAS). Prior to Sitra he worked in the European Commission in DG Health and food safety where he was responsible of the cross-border healthcare IT projects.
Markus holds a Master’s degree in technology and has been actively involved in digitisation projects across both the private and public sectors. With his experience as both an entrepreneur and an EU official, he possesses a deep understanding of practical implementation as well as regulatory directives. Previously, he led Sitra’s Health Data 2030 project and coordinated the EU’s first TEHDAS joint action. In the IHAN fair data economy project, Markus was responsible for influencing EU policies. Within the Isaacus project, he worked on enhancing the secondary use of well-being data in Finland and contributed to the creation of the operating model for the new data provider, Findata.
